When Art and Machine Meet: AI Visions in the Visual Arts

The Diriyah Future Arts Center is pleased to launch its inaugural exhibition, When Art and Machines Collide: Visions of AI in the Visual Arts, which will run from November 26, 2024 to February 15, 2025. The exhibition is curated by distinguished art curator Jérôme Notre, former director of the Grand Palais in Paris, and brings together more than thirty pioneering artists from around the world and the MENA region, highlighting the transformative impact of the intersection of art and technology.

The exhibition embodies decades of innovation and invites visitors to journey through time to explore the evolution of computational art, from the first digital explorations to the latest artworks that employ artificial intelligence, featuring works by global figures such as Frieder Naik, Refik Anadol and Vera Molnar, alongside regional talents such as Saudi artists Muhannad Shono and Lulwa Al-Hamoud.

Located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Diriyah, the exhibition is a bridge between the region’s rich history and cutting-edge artistic expressions. It is not an ordinary exhibition, but a living testament to the role of artificial intelligence and algorithms in shaping the future of creativity.
