The closing exhibition of the “Waslun International Fine Arts Forum” was opened yesterday evening, Tuesday, in the Ziad Bakir Hall at the Opera House in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with the participation of 16 male and female artists from 15 Arab and foreign countries.
The exhibition, which is organized by the Arab Forum for Arts and will last for three days, is the culmination of the Waslun workshop and forum that began in early September and was implemented by the Arab Forum for Arts and “Dima Art Store”, under the patronage of Yemeni businessman Dr. Marwan Al-Khaled.
The exhibition was opened in the presence of Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr. Shaye Al-Zindani, Yemen’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League Dr. Riyad Al-Akbari, former Minister of Culture Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Maflahi, former Yemeni Ambassador to Cairo Dr. Abdul-Wali Al-Shamiri, the Cultural Attaché at the Palestinian Embassy and the Cultural Attaché at the Indian Embassy, in addition to a large number of artists, writers, media professionals and interested parties.
At the opening, the forum coordinator, plastic artist Radfan Al-Mohammadi, expressed his happiness with the distinguished attendance that the exhibition enjoyed, and thanked all the participating artists who enriched the forum experience and crowned it with their wonderful artistic works.
Al-Mohammadi added, “The forum aims to create a collective artistic experience that transcends borders and blends ideas and colors in paintings that are more like a dialogue of civilizations and cultures, especially since it brought together 16 artists representing four continents.”
Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Tunisia, Syria, Palestine, Morocco, the Sultanate of Oman, and Yemen,” and they drew them during the forum period that lasted for ten days, and they will be displayed at the Opera House for three days.
For his part, the sponsor of the forum, Dr. Marwan Al-Khaled, stressed the importance of the forum as an international artistic and cultural event organized by a Yemeni entity in conjunction with the Yemeni people’s celebrations of the immortal September 26 Revolution.
It is worth noting that the Waslun workshop and forum was organized by the Arab Forum for Arts after a selection process that lasted for more than a month and arrangements that extended for two months. It is the first international art event organized by the forum, after it organized last year an exhibition entitled “Art Has Light” which brought together 75 Yemeni artists at the Egyptian Opera House, and achieved great success and attendance.
