"Roots and Wings": A Creative Window Embracing Children's Creations and Adult Experiences at Karma Ibn Hani Hall... Wednesday

Under the patronage of Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, Dr. Mahmoud Hamed, Head of the Fine Arts Sector, will inaugurate the "Roots and Wings" exhibition by artist Maggie El-Shweish at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the Karma Ibn Hani Cultural Center in the Ahmed Shawky Museum.

The "Roots and Wings" exhibition presents a visual and philosophical experience, combining mature works representing "roots"—with their balance, experience, and complete visual vision—and a collection of children's paintings, representing "wings"—armed with absolute spontaneity and innate passion unconstrained by the rules of academic technique.

This artistic juxtaposition in a single exhibition space is not merely a blending of colors, but rather a genuine message of faith in the capabilities of emerging generations. When a child sees their artwork displayed alongside their teacher's, their confidence in their own artistic production is nurtured, and they realize that their vision has value, and that their imagination has a voice and an echo that deserves to be seen and heard.

The exhibition is scheduled to run until August 29th.
