Opening of the "Ningyo: The Art and Beauty of Japanese Dolls" Exhibition

At the Hamed Owais Hall

In a fruitful collaboration between the Alexandria Museum of Fine Arts and the Japan Foundation in Cairo, the "Ningyo: The Art and Beauty of Japanese Dolls" exhibition opened on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Hamed Owais Hall in the Alexandria Museum of Fine Arts.

The opening was attended by Ms. Ayumi Hashimoto, Director of the Japan Foundation in Cairo; Ms. Yoshimi Sai, Assistant Director; Ms. Alia Ibrahim, Program Coordinator; Eng. Hassan Wasfi, Head of the Alexandria Syndicate of Fine Artists; Dr. Hussein El-Shaboury; Dr. Ashraf El-Sowiny, Director of the Museum; and a number of artists and fine art enthusiasts.

Also present were the exhibition team: Mr. Yaman Mabrouk, Mr. Mohamed Youssef, and Ms. Faten El-Desouky, in addition to the museum staff, including curators and the security team led by Mr. Reda El-Ghannam.

The exhibition features artworks that express Japanese heritage and reflect a rich aspect of Japanese culture. We look forward to your visit to the exhibition to enjoy this unique artistic experience.

The exhibition will continue to welcome visitors until May 24, 2026. Museum hours are daily from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, except Fridays and Mondays.
