"Dissolving in Blue": A Profound Philosophical Reflection Linking Ancestral Heritage with the Rhythm of the Modern Age
Under the patronage of Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, Dr. Mahmoud Hamed, Head of the Fine Arts Sector, inaugurated the "Dissolving in Blue" exhibition by Dr. Fayrouz Samir on Tuesday evening, August 11, 2026, at the Bab Gallery in the Museum of Modern Art. In his remarks about the exhibition, Dr. Hamed expressed the Fine Arts Sector's appreciation for this unique and illuminating visual experience, noting that Dr. Fayrouz Samir, with her extensive experience dating back to the 1990s and her keen sensitivity, has been able to delve into our cultural roots and blend them with the spirit of modernity and contemporary art.
The Head of the Fine Arts Sector added that the exhibition takes the audience on a captivating journey that oscillates between the serenity of the Nile and the radiant blue of Egyptian art, featuring the bougainvillea, lotus flowers, and water hyacinth, presenting works that transcend the boundaries of traditional painting. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Fayrouz Samir's career is characterized by profound and diverse creative experiences since She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo in 1995, and throughout her various artistic phases, she has explored themes of emotion, humanity, women, and Egyptian nature through a distinctive and contemporary visual vision.
The "Melting in Blue" exhibition is scheduled to run until August 22nd at Al-Bab Gallery.
