A seminar on the Impressionist pioneer Claude Monet

Tonight... A seminar on the Impressionist pioneer Claude Monet at the Civilization Cinema Center

The Cultural Center of the Gezira Museum (Civilization Cinema Center), part of the Fine Arts Sector, under the chairmanship of Dr. Mahmoud Hamed, is organizing its monthly cultural seminar as part of the "Artist of the Month" program. The seminar, to be held at 6:00 PM this Thursday, August 20, 2026, will focus on the French artist Claude Monet, a pioneer of the Impressionist school.

The seminar, titled "Monet: Between Light and Mist," will be presented by Dr. Ghada Amin, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, who will take the audience on a visual and critical journey into Monet's artistic world.

The seminar will analyze Monet's unique style, which revolutionized modern art by liberating painting from rigid academic constraints, focusing instead on capturing fleeting visual moments and the changing effects of light on surfaces. It also explores how Monet did not treat forms as solid, static masses, but rather deconstructed them into rapid, short brushstrokes, using pure, unmixed colors that blend seamlessly in the viewer's eye to capture the pulse of nature.
