From Picasso East Gallery in New Cairo, the opening of two art exhibitions, “Nile Squares” by artist Assem Abdel Fattah and “Neighing” by artist Dr. Hind El-Falafly, will take place on Saturday, March 28th at 6:00 PM, in the presence of a large number of visual artists, media figures, and public figures.
Nile Squares
In the “Nile Squares” exhibition, Assem Abdel Fattah presents a visual experience based on deconstructing and reconstructing forms. He treats heritage as a living fabric capable of being reshaped, not merely a static past. The artist relies on the square as the basic unit in constructing the painting, with its connotations of order and stability, transforming it through repetition and overlap into geometric compositions that reflect the elements of the Egyptian environment.
Through this vision, he reinterprets elements of daily life, such as the farmer, the buffalo, the musicians, and the pottery, in a visual construction that seeks to express the “architecture of emotions,” where color and line become tools for narrating a contemporary Egyptian story with a futuristic vision.
Dr. Hind Al-Falafli's exhibition, "Neighing," springs from a profound emotional space, where the artist draws inspiration from the absence of the father through the symbol of the horse. The horse appears as an entity embodying strength, loyalty, and memory, and the "neighing" expresses an inner voice that resonates between presence and absence, embodying a human relationship that transcends the boundaries of reality.
The artist also explores the duality of woman and horse in her works, employing a visual approach that blends contrast and complementarity. Strength and tenderness, resilience and sensitivity, coexist in expressive states that reflect feelings of love and loyalty.
