"Egyptian Details": Photographic Creations and Inspiring Participation of "Shakmageya" (Craftsmen) with Disabilities

Under the patronage of Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, the Mahmoud Mokhtar Cultural Center witnessed the opening of the fourth edition of the "Egyptian Details" Photography Festival on Thursday evening, amidst a large artistic and cultural gathering. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Mahmoud Hamed, Head of the Fine Arts Sector.

In his speech, Dr. Hamed praised the outstanding quality of the exhibited works and the festival's concept, which highlights the beauty and intricate details of Egyptian life through the eyes of promising photographers.

Dr. Hamed also interacted with the young "Shakmageya" (Craftsmen) with disabilities as they showcased their handcrafted products, which included crochet, leather goods, and food items. Their participation aims to highlight their ability to produce and effectively integrate into the cultural and artistic community.

The exhibition is curated by Dr. Ahmed Shabita, who successfully prepared and coordinated a diverse collection of photographs reflecting the richness and cultural and human diversity of the Egyptian environment.

This year's edition was distinguished by its remarkable human participation and social inclusion, with several people with disabilities from the "Shakmagia" team showcasing exquisite handmade and artisanal products that reflected their great skill and creativity, as part of their rehabilitation and integration program.

The "Egyptian Details" festival is an important platform for supporting the art of photography in Egypt, a window for showcasing photographers' creativity, and an effective contributor to strengthening the role of the arts in empowering and integrating people with disabilities.
