Demolition Order

Demolition Order

Does an artist possess a "space" that cannot be erased by decrees? The opening of Sherine Mostafa's "Demolition Order" exhibition.

When an artist faces a demolition order for their studio, they lose not just a workspace, but a vessel in which their memories and projects have taken shape. Artist Sherine Mostafa transforms this harsh experience into a visual narrative in her new exhibition: "Demolition Order... Does an Artist Have a Geography?"

A bold question: Is artistic identity tied to specific walls? Through her paintings and installations, the artist takes us on a journey through packaging tape, cardboard boxes, and city streets that have been transformed into spaces for contemplation and redefining our relationship with place.

The Fine Arts Sector is honored to invite you to the opening of the exhibition, in the presence of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Hamed, Head of the Sector, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Karma Ibn Hani Cultural Center.

The exhibition will run until July 26, 2026, daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (except Friday and Monday). Join us as we search for answers to questions about place, memory, and what survives oblivion.
