The exhibition is prepared and organized by the artist Amir Al-Laithi, Director of the Center. Artist Ali Saeed, Director General of Arts Centers, says.. Ten years have passed since the passing of the artist Khalaf Taie, and he is one of those who combined the image and the word from more than one angle. He has been diligent in his research to search for the relationship between the image and the word, and he also studied the closeness of philosophical meanings in Islamic miniatures, which are the most important examples in the history of art expressing that relationship. As a high-class journalistic artist, his drawings blended with the written word and crept into the consciousness of all of us, whether we were specialists or mere recipients. Taie exploited the print press and its power of dissemination to spread his art to the public, and he actually approached them with his lively lines. As for the painting in its known sense, we see it in his lines, colors, and brilliant geometric compositions mixed with organic lines at times, to weave together a cohesive fabric, and create a dialogue of a special kind in which there is a beloved coalition for a new relationship between the geometric and the organic that is no less important than the relationship between the word and the image. Khalaf Taie (October 1943 – September 2014) Born in Alexandria, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, Alexandria University 1968, PhD in Islamic Miniatures and Their Role in Contemporary Illustrative Photography, Alexandria University 1996, Member of the Fine Arts Syndicate, Journalists, Egyptian Critics Association, Cairo and Alexandria Atelier, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Radio and Television Magazine, Worked as a journalist and painter in many publications in Egypt and the Arab world, Presented many exhibitions and participated in many major events in Egypt and abroad.
